Accounts

Users must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Provide accurate account information
• Maintain account security and confidentiality of login credentials
• Not impersonate individuals, businesses or officials
• Not share, sell or transfer an account without our written consent

Platform Use

Users agree not to:

• Post false or misleading information
• Manipulate reviews or ratings
• Harass, threaten or intimidate other users or businesses
• Attempt scams or fraudulent activity
• Misuse service requests, competitions or emergency features
• Attempt to hack, probe, scrape or disrupt the platform

Users and businesses agree not to:

• Scrape, extract or copy data from the platform
• Use bots, crawlers or automated tools without written consent
• Reproduce listings, reviews or user content for external use
• Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the platform

Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property in the My LocalLink platform is owned by or licensed to My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Source code, compiled binaries and infrastructure configuration
• Platform workflows, user journeys and product logic
• Business logic, algorithms, ranking and matching systems
• User interface design, layout, iconography and interaction patterns
• Database schemas, structures and relationships
• AI prompts, prompt engineering, model configuration and training data
• APIs, endpoints, webhooks and integration surfaces
• Branding, trademarks, logos, colour palettes and typography
• Graphics, illustrations, photography and marketing content
• Written content authored by or for My LocalLink

Users and businesses may NOT:

• Copy, reproduce, replicate or "clone" any part of the platform
• Scrape, mirror or index platform data
• Reverse engineer or attempt to recreate the system
• Use platform data or structure to build competing services
• Remove or obscure any copyright, trademark or attribution notice

My LocalLink provides commerce tools that allow businesses to accept orders, quotes and reservations from customers. My LocalLink itself is not a party to these transactions.

• Businesses remain solely responsible for pricing and pricing accuracy
• Businesses remain solely responsible for fulfilment and delivery
• Businesses remain solely responsible for warranties, guarantees and product safety
• Businesses remain solely responsible for refunds, returns and dispute resolution with their customers
• Businesses remain responsible for compliance with the Consumer Protection Act and applicable tax law

• Points, credits and rewards have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash
• Reward levels, thresholds and available rewards may change at any time
• Rewards linked to fraudulent, self-referred or manipulated activity may be reversed
• My LocalLink may suspend accounts that abuse the referral programme
• Rewards may expire in line with published programme rules

Where My LocalLink provides QR codes, NFC tags, digital business cards, review-request codes or similar physical/digital products, the following additional rules apply:

• QR codes and NFC tags are licensed to the specific business or account they were issued to
• Duplication, cloning or resale of My LocalLink-issued QR/NFC products is prohibited
• Use of these products to impersonate another business or user is prohibited
• Fraudulent use — including redirecting scans to unrelated destinations — may result in immediate deactivation
• My LocalLink may deactivate or reissue codes/tags where fraud, loss or misuse is reported

AI-generated content is provided as a helpful assistant only and should not be relied upon as professional advice.

My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd does not guarantee:

• Accuracy or completeness of AI output
• Performance or business outcomes
• Legal, medical, financial or professional compliance

Businesses are fully responsible for:

• Reviewing AI-generated content before publishing
• Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
• The accuracy of advertising, pricing and product claims

Business Listings

Businesses listed on My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd operate independently of the platform.

My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd does not guarantee:

• Business qualifications
• Service quality
• Pricing accuracy
• Service availability

Businesses using My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd agree that:

• They are solely responsible for services offered
• All service quality, pricing, and delivery is their responsibility
• They will respond to service requests in good faith

Businesses must NOT:

• Mislead users
• Provide false information
• Abuse the service request system
• Engage in fraudulent or deceptive practices

My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to:

• Suspend listings
• Reduce visibility
• Remove businesses from the platform

Service Agreements

My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd is not involved in service negotiations.

All agreements, payments, and contracts are made directly between users and businesses.

My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd facilitates communication between users and businesses but is not involved in:

• Service delivery
• Pricing agreements
• Negotiations
• Quality control

All agreements are made directly between users and businesses.

My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd accepts NO responsibility for:

• Work performed
• Damages
• Delays
• Disputes

My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd is not a party to any agreement between users and businesses.

In the event of a dispute:

• Users and businesses must resolve issues directly
• My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd may review complaints for platform violations
• My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd may take action against accounts if rules are breached

Accounts may be suspended, restricted or permanently terminated for reasons including but not limited to:

• Posting fake, incentivised or manipulated reviews
• Spam, off-topic promotions or bulk unsolicited messaging
• Referral programme abuse, self-referrals or reward manipulation
• AI abuse — generating harmful, illegal or misleading content
• Harassment, threats, hate speech or intimidation
• Impersonation of another person, business or official
• Fraud, scams and deceptive commerce practices
• Illegal activity or content that breaches South African law
• Anything that breaches the Child Safety Standards
• Repeated or serious breaches of the Community Guidelines

My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd administrators may take action to protect the platform and its users, including:

• Removing listings and content
• Suspending accounts and restricting features
• Investigating complaints and preserving records

Limitation of Liability

My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd is provided "as is" without warranties.

My LocalLink (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for:

• Services provided by businesses
• Financial losses from transactions
• Disputes between users and businesses
• Damages resulting from services performed
• Platform outages, downtime or errors

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from these Terms is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
